Olivia Emmanuel
I am a dedicated Registered Clinical Counesllor (RCC with the British Columbia Association of Registered Clinical Counsellors), and a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying) in Ontario. I am committed to listening to your story, nurturing growth and healing. It won’t always be easy, however, together, we will process, unpack and leverage our combined expertise for a safe space where deep insights are gained, and effective coping strategies are cultivated to feel safe in your mind and body in order to be the best version of yourself.
With a background in social services, I have developed a strong passion for working with youth and families, individuals, and couples. My experience includes addressing substance use/dependence, problematic sexualized behaviours in youth, anger management, trauma, emotions, and self-regulation, youth in care. I believe in a personalized treatment tailored to your unique needs, desires, and goals. Drawing from a range of modalities like Motivational Interviewing, the Relational Needs Model, Humanistic, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and psychoeducation, I offer a holistic and integrative approach to therapy.
As a South Asian person of colour and working in youth protection, I was deeply moved by the absence of safe spaces where individuals can freely explore their lived experiences, overcome challenges, and navigate complex emotions. This understanding of the immense suffering that occurs on personal, generational, and systemic levels fuels my drive to promote therapeutic healing and destigmatize mental health. I strongly believe in the power of connection—to oneself, to others, and the world. Through holistic evidence-based practices that integrate mind, body, and soul, I am committed to creating inclusive spaces rooted in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally sensitive frameworks. With therapeutic connections and safe spaces, my mission is to uplift and support marginalized communities, empowering individuals to tap into their inner resources, cultivate social support, and foster profound healing and personal growth.
